Virginia Residency

In March, Todd had a residency for school in Virginia. We roped mi familia into watching our babies for 3 days and I flew out to join him. Washington DC is just bigger than life. Within every square inch of ground there are so many stories and so much history. We felt bad that we only got to scratch the surface of amazing things to do there, but grateful that we got to go at all!!!This is where we popped out after riding into D.C. on the Metro. What a cool site!Smithsonian museum of Natural History. We loved it!The Lincoln Memorial is a "temple" and at night with it all lit up beautifully, it truly felt sacred. It really was a special experience. In fact, the whole night was a teary one. The war memorials are incredibly sobering. The Korean War memorial is also special to me because my grandfather served in this war. He has some amazing stories to share. Having Todd there with me..., well, it was an experience neither of us will forget.Vietnam War MemorialKorean War MemorialBen's Chili Bowl is a random place in the hood with half-smokes. They were actually delicious! A helpful man on the street informed us that we couldn't come to DC without trying a half-smoke!
